Since i only get a very few mails complaining about a virus or trojan in the selfinstalling version of the xp-AntiSpy, so i assume nearly all of you seem to have the latest updates for your virus scanner.
So this problem should be out of the way and i can get back to my usual passion, which is coding 😉
So, c’ya at the next update of the xp-AntiSpy.

The Windows Update from yesterday also updated the file tcpip.sys. That’s why the xp-AntiSpy 3.96-1 didn’t detect it. This is fixed with the 3.96-1.
Also i changed the version of NSIS i use to create the setup program. I hope this will end all the false positives some virus scanning software detects.

In the meantime i received more mails, complaining that a trojan in the self installing version of the xp-AntiSpy is found. This also concerns the software AntiVir.
So i wrote to the owners of Bitdefender and AntiVir to state that this is a false positive.
Please keep providing me with the details if you virus scanning software is detecting a Trojan or a Virus.
Please include the following infos:

• Which software detects the malicious code
• Which version
• The date of you virus database (it’s mostly the date of the last time you did a update)
• Name of the detected Trojan/Virus

Since the release of version 3.96 of the xp-AntiSpy some users complained about a virus warning of their virus scanning software. I was alertet that the file xp-AntiSpy_setup-english.exe was infected with a trojan.
This is a false detection.
To build the setup executable i use the Nullsoft Install System. This wonderful piece of software is a open source software and it clearly contains no malicious code.
So please update your virus scanning software and this false detection should belong to the past.
I only had users of a Bitdefender virus scanner complaining about this virus detection. If you use different virus scanner which complains, please letme know.

The version 3.96 is now available for download.
Details could be checked out in the Changelog.
Some settings where added, the connection limit can be patched now also under 64-Bit systems and I added a symbol reference for a quick overview of the different icon states of a setting.
